SHORT STORY😊:~[RF] Life is suffering

It gets boring, being a person like me. Society has to remove or otherwise dispose of those who make things unstable. Flying under the radar is how I survive. I wonder what the others do.

My name is Elvis. I'm a murderer. A serial killer to be exact, I prefer murderer though. Bringing pain and death are the only things I care to do.

I've never harmed an animal, always been fairly neutral towards them. I grew up in a nice home with loving parents. There's been no great trauma in my life.

I try to kill only those that no one seems to like. Bothersome homeless, the rude and obnoxious, general trash. I do often go outside of that frame though, I don't do what I do for the comfort of the public.

I view humans as a mistake of nature. Putting them in the ground makes them much more useful than they are while alive. To me that's just a fact. I'm no environmentalist.

I hope this journal will be a good outlet for me. Murder at the consistency I keep becomes quite tiring. I find myself needing short breaks here and there. Hopefully this will help with a bit of the boredom in my downtime.

The past is over and done. The future is just an idea. I'd like to discuss my current, short term goal.

I work through a temp agency. They send me somewhere new almost everytime I go in. I enjoy the freedom of choosing what days I work there. I also work about about two days a week at a local bar.

There's a woman, named Madsion. A regular at this bar. Madison is 32 years old, divorced, no kids, lives alone with a dog, sells insurance. Her conversation style is typical to her age. Casual, flirty, liberal politics. No religious inclination, not openly at least.

 I think I'll kill Madsion.

I got her address from her license when I asked to see it the first time she was a customer of mine. Quiet, diverse, blue collar neighborhood. Two story house, seems to have a basement and a very small attic. The dog lives inside, a rather large mutt, seems to be young.

There are married couples on either side of her. They both have small children. The relationships with these neighbors don't appear to be anything beyond a family exchange of pleasantries.

This is all I can find out with a rental car and the zoom on my camera. On my next day off I'll have to go and take a look around inside...

This morning I woke up at 5am. After a shower and a light breakfast, I went for a jog. Three miles across town, at 6am, I find myself at Madsions. To be at work on time she'd have to have left a bit before 530. The neighbors have a similar schedule. Everyone was gone.

Through our chats I've learned she has no security system beyond the dog. I'm not concerned about neighbors seeing me go in, as a general rule.

I rang the bell to get the dog to the front door, then I go to the back. The lock is very simple and weak, just a tumbler in a knob. Most people put little thought into how secure rear entry into their place is.

I'm inside within seconds. There's a fruity smell in the air and a large dog rushing at me. I taze him before he has the chance to bite. I tape his mouth closed and hogtie his legs.

Dirty dishes in the sink, trash that should have been taken out yesterday. Average kitchen. The living room was a complete mess, the den was bare. I make my way upstairs.

The bathroom wasn't the worst I'd seen, shower needed a good scrub. Her bedroom was the cleanest of all. I open the closet and see it filled with work clothes. I go through the drawers to find yoga pants and t-shirts.

A look inside the nightstand showed me a loaded revolver. This is why I go the extra mile. That gun has one purpose, to kill people like me. Know thy enemy.

I head back downstairs. The dog has woken up. I fire the taser inches away from his face in the air. He calms down. I untie his legs while applying pressure to make sure he stays on the ground. I open the back door before taking the tape off. I fire the taser once more in the air. I remove the tape and he quickly runs off into the house. Very friendly dog.

I make sure the door is locked as I leave, the time is 6:13am at this point. There's no fence, so within seconds I'm back to my jog. Today is Thursday. I'll plan what I want to do over the weekend and set this for Tuesday.

I like to work with the agency every Monday.
