Eulogy - Sleep
I have technically have a stubborn mind, with a stubborn thought that sleep is just wasting time. I always refuse to sleep, no excuses, because for me, there are things that are definitely more important than rest. But as hours, days, or months passed by I began to realize that sleep is not just leisure time. It is like the periodical check-up with you doctor or dentist, or your daily intake of food. Sleep is as important as school works, no scratch that, sleep is definitely more important than school works.
Sleep became my comfort, an unconscious comfort. Of course, I don't know that I am sleeping while I am sleeping. But the highlight is that I wake up one morning with mind reset, like it is a new start. Memories and feelings from the past are not forgotten, but calmed down, thanks to sleep. I can comfortably start my day pondering what I need to prioritize because my worries are washed away last night. If I were to give a simile about sleep, then I will compare it to a power bank. I am aware that it's cliché but people are strangely attracted to clichés, and a power bank perfectly explains my own perspective of sleep. It is not unusual that problems and certain circumstances drain my energy, but because sleep is available whenever I need to recharge my battery of +AAA, I didn't break. Also, sleep is my daily medicine. All of my headaches, brain-aches, and slight heartbreaks are given remedy while I am off to dreamland. However, it doesn't help with body aches, especially whenever I woke up on the wrong side of bed (which is ironic because I don't even have a bed, just a mattress.)
Kidding aside, sleep must not be disregarded. I harshly realized through own experience that without sleep you cannot accomplish anything (maybe you can but it's not going to be the best.) Your head will seem to be in the clouds while you are daydreaming with eyes bulging out of its sockets. You will look terrible like someone punched you in the eye, or eyes, because of its blackness. In conclusion, you need sleep. It's that simple. Just close your eyes, sleep your worries away, and the job will be done. Then open your eyes and see a bright new day ahead of your life.
